The Pali counterpart of the Sanskrit Dharma, meaning "law" or "moral law," and in the Buddhist context, the teachings of Gotama Buddha as found in the Tipitaka. Dhamma is one of the "Three Gems" of Buddhism, in which the believer takes refuge, the others being the Buddha and the Sangha.
